The grapes for our Select Harvest Riesling were picked from a block owned by our long-term partner grower, Glenora Farms. Located a few hundred meters from the winery, the vines were planted in the 1970s. The origin of the plant material has been lost to time, and so it has become simply known as the “Glenora clone”. The small berries and clusters of this particular clone produce wines with aromas of lime zest and vibrant acidity. We did not inoculate this wine; instead, we allowed wild yeast to complete the long, slow fermentation, which we arrested at a semi-dry level where the balance of sugar and acidity seemed most harmonious.
